FRIDAY NIGHT WINS FOR NEATH AND CARMARTHEN PDF Print E-mail
STRUGGLING Carmarthen sprang a shock by beating early table toppers Port Talbot Town 2-1 at the GenQuip Stadium on Friday night.
Town suffered an early blow when Lee Jenkins was forced-off with an 11th-minute injury, to be replaced by new signing Geraint Passmore, but the introduction of the former Aberystwyth Town frontman was a bonus for manager Tomi Morgan, scoring what proved to be the winner on 52 minutes.
Earlier, the visitors had taken the lead midway through the first-half, when Tim Hicks netted from the penalty spot after Lloyd Grist had handled.
Martin Rose notched Talbot's reply from another penalty, 15 minutes from time.
Big-money signings Kristian O'Leary and Lee Trundle both opened their accounts at the second attempt as Neath recorded a 3-0 win at the New Bridge Meadow, to leave Haverfordwest County bottom and still pointless after three games.
Former Swansea City midfielder O'Leary scored the Eagles' goal in the first-half, while ex-Liberty Stadium team-mate Trundle weighed-in with a late brace to seal a 3-0 victory.

On August 2nd, 2010, Swiss End2End, a team of cyclists from Llanelli, riding from lands End to John O Groats completed their ride. the ride was done in 7 days. The ride was in aid of Ty Hafan Children's Hospice, which offers comfort, care and support for life-limited children and young people. The ride was also in memory of Mr Andrew Newcombe, organiser of the ride, who sadly passed away in May this year. His son, Cai, 10, started the ride off in Land's End and then met the team to complete the last 10 miles in memory of his dad.

Llanelli AFC, along with other local businesses have been extremely kind in sponsoring
the ride, and we would like to say a huge thank you to them all. You can still sponsor the team at http://www.justgiving.com/Ty-Hafan-Swiss-End-to-End and this will be open until the end of September or contact Dawn Evans on 07971 185 153
